A beautiful sun-filled home in an amazing Ballard Location. The whole property includes 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, two kitchens, the rooftop deck with HOT TUB and the lovely backyard. A 5-minute stroll brings you to groceries, restaurants, bars, breweries, parks and fun.

You will love this house for 3 reasons:

1. It's indoor/outdoor connection-- the bi-fold glass door that opens one wall of the living room to the back deck AND the enormous rooftop deck where you can lounge, soak in the hot tub and enjoy expansive territorial views over a cocktail.

2. The light filled design of the house which will make you so comfortable you'll barely want to leave to explore Seattle.

3. The Location - it is a quick walk to everything, a two-minute stroll brings you to cafes, bakeries and groceries, and a seven-minute stroll brings you to the heart of Ballard with all of its shops, restaurants and bars.

At Plum you are close enough to wander into Ballard for dinner but with this house you may not want to. The open kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to create gourmet meals. The kitchen is the center of the house nestled between the dining room with its gorgeous slab dining table that accommodates 12 people and an open living room. The deck immediately off the back door offers outdoor dining and a gas bbq for your use. The backyard brims with fruits and vegetables to enjoy during your stay. Large windows throughout the house bring in bountiful daylight and cooling breezes. There is no air conditioner, but even on Seattle’s hottest days you’ll never want for it.

Your electronic guest binder has TONS of info about the house and the area.

Entry Code: the last four digits of the phone number {{GuestPhone}} associated with your booking will open the front door during your stay.Address: 2429 NW 61st Street Seattle WA 98107

Parking: There is an easy driveway spot for up to 3 cars. If you wish to park two cars in the driveway, you can park 2 on the house side of the sidewalk and the other on the street side of the sidewalk so that the tail of the car is even with the cars that are parallel parked on the street. Make sure that you do not block the sidewalk with either car because you may get a ticket.

Entry and Locking:

The front door has a combination code that opens the deadbolt. When you are in front of the door, to unlock, press the Schlage button, which lights up the keypad, then enter the code, XXXX, this will slide the bolt. To lock the door when you leave; simply close the door, press the Schlage button, the bolt will slide and then you'll see a green check mark on the keypad to show that the door is locked. You will use this code, XXXX, as your "key" through your stay.

Backdoor to deck:

One of our favorite things about this house is the indoor outdoor livibility. The back door folds and slides away to open the house to the backyard. There are only a few steps to be aware of:

To open the door all the way up: the single swinging door

2. Go to the middle of the next two panels, hold the silver handle in the middle, then pull the silver tab at the top down,

3. Next lift the silver tab at the bottom up, then push out 4. Use the two rope covered weights to hold the door open 5. To close, reverse these steps

  • To lock the single swinging door, lift the handle up then turn the bolt.
  • If you open the door completely use the two rope covered weights to hold the door open so it doesn’t bang in the breeze.

Great place!

We had a great time at Plum Modern. From hanging out on the roof deck and the back patio, we really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor spaces and flow. We also walked to the Ballard Locks. Would stay here again.

Wedding headquarters!

I needed a large home to accommodate my elderly parents along with my daughter and her new baby for my son's wedding at Ballard Bay Club. Plum Modern exceeded my expectations! Enough room for everyone to have their own space while gathering together on main level for meal times. Loved the inviting backyard with the beautiful flowers and picked strawberries and raspberries to snack on! Incredible views along with hot tub on upper deck to unwind in the evenings was a bonus. Our family was comfortable and very much enjoyed your home. It was conveniently located to all Ballard breweries, dining and he Sunday Ballard market.. thank you for providing a home away from home. Pura Vida!

Incredible home! Best Owners ever!

We were in Ballard celebrating my brother's milestone birthday. The owners were amazing. They responded so quickly to all my questions and their attention to detail in check in and check out instructions were so helpful. The house was completely stocked and clean and so welcoming. I felt like I was at home. The directions on the use of every kitchen item, pull out beds, etc was great. The hot tub was amazing and the view of the city was breathtaking each night. The location was walking distance to stores, bars, and restaurants. Love this house. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home, it made our trip the best!

Our week at Mercy's house was our best airB&B experience by far. The house was everything we hoped for and more. It is exceptionally well equipped and the lay-out is great for a large gathering. The Ballard area has lots to offer and is convenient to many Seattle attractions. And the hosts were immediately responsive to our needs. Thanks Mercy for a great week!

Thanks for taking the time to help others find our place Mark!

The house was everything we hoped it would be and more. It was well equipped for a family but had lots of great entertaining space for adults. Only regret is that the weather was too cold for the hot tub - which looked fantastic. Would absolutely stay at Plum Modern again!

It was just perfect.

I have never been in such a well organized house in my life. It is warm and welcoming with comforting touches. Entry and exit were simple and easy. I would book again in a second. The neighborhood is lovely with great walks and fun shops close by and groceries practically next door. Our hosts were responsive and made sure we felt at home.

Well stocked and appointed! Everything we needed was there. They anticipated everything!

It was just like the photos, actually better than the photos! It was a modern, clean and well laid out apartment. The kitchen was better equipped than most places we have stayed. Check in was very easy. Location was wonderful, has great walk-ability. Inside was very quiet and peaceful. Loved the polished concrete floors felt so nice on the feet in July weather. Nice cross breeze, floors help to keep things cool. Great lighting everywhere. Loved every minute and would stay here again in a heartbeat!!
